Rubie's Official Marvel Deadpool Costume, Adult Superhero Fancy Dress Size: Large This is an official licenced outfit which comes in a plastic resealable bag for storage. There is an official label on the inside of the outfit and washing instructions state for sponge clean only. The size looks good for an average height man of medium build. The material has a slight stretch to it. The image is printed onto the top of the material rather than woven in. The fabric itself is reasonably thick although you can see through it if held up to the light so underwear is recommended! It is sewn in the same manor as a onesie so it will need to be pulled down for bathroom breaks. It fastens at the back with three Velcro tabs. I found the separate head covering not quite so good as the eye holes are very small and actually only went down as far as my eyebrows; visibility was extremely restrictive. Reasonable costume and fun for showing up at a party, you just need to learn the dance to be a big hit.

As a huge Deadpool nerd I jumped at the chance of any kind of Wade Wilson inspired merch. That was despite seeing the pictures of the product and judging that the costume was likely to be a bit tacky. My fears were confirmed when I tried the costume on seconds after it arrived. Although I thought the official license from Marvel might have improved the quality of the material, I felt that everything felt a little cheap. The material is thin and just hangs on my body. It doesn’t close fit in anyway, and the intermittent pieces of Velcro running up the chest made it fit very poorly. The hood was marginally better, but still not brilliant. It fit a little bit more securely and followed my face a bit more than the suit followed my body, but that led to an uncomfortable feeling of it pressing against my eyelashes. It took a while to get the eyes in the correct position to be able to see out of it, but you can at least see what you’re doing, but it’s not something you want to wear for too long. In fairness, I have a much more expensive Deadpool mask that I’ve had since 2018 which is horrible to wear for more than a few minutes. Overall, I was disappointed with the official Deadpool fancy dress costume. I wasn’t expecting it to make me look like Ryan Reynolds, but I was hoping for less laughter from my wife.

It is what it is: A budget Deadpool costume. The body suit looked better than I thought it would albeit a little tricky do up on the back without any help. I do have an issue with the mask though, it outlines the mouth too much and that could have been solved with a bit of padding. But for the price, it's not too bad and is a fun costume to wear at a party.
